A huge advantage to owning an EV is the fuel savings. A typical gas vehicle will run you around 12¢/km compared to an EV, which is around 4¢/km. This is an average fuel savings of $3000/annually, depending on your driving habits.
Charging the Mach-E® is convenient, with options for home and public stations. Ford has partnered to allow Mach-E® owners to use Tesla charging stations, expanding the available infrastructure. The vehicle’s navigation system displays nearby charging stations and can plan long-distance trips accordingly by mapping out your stops at convenient locations to charge. You have the convenience of charging at home from either a 120-volt outlet or, for faster charging, a 240-volt outlet. It’s recommended to hire a certified electrician for installation to ensure safety and compliance with local regulations.
Transitioning to the Mach-E® offers significant savings due to fuel costs, oil changes, and maintenance typically associated with gasoline vehicles. Additionally, the Manitoba government currently provides a $4,000 incentive for EVs priced under $70,000, making the Mach-E® an even more attractive option.

Owning an EV like the Mach-E® requires some adjustments. Regular charging becomes part of your routine, and it’s essential to monitor the vehicle’s range, especially during extreme weather conditions. If the battery were to become low and you were not within a charging station, you would need to call a tow truck to assist you to the nearest location. Ensuring you have some remaining battery to get the car on a tow bed is optimal. Monitoring your battery life is no different than watching your gas gauge to ensure your safety on the road. The Mach-E®’s battery is designed to last approximately eight years, providing long-term reliability.
