The kitchen had experienced years of sun exposure, causing the original stain to fade unevenly across various cabinets. Rather than refinishing with another stain, which could lead to similar issues down the road, the team opted for a timeless and elegant painted finish. A major aspect of the renovation involved updating cabinetry. The existing pantry wall originally featured glass doors, but the homeowner preferred a more seamless and contemporary look. To achieve this, the team at Refreshed + Refurbished had custom solid wood doors made to replace the glass. Similarly, the two matching glass doors flanking the range hood were also removed and substituted with solid wood panels, creating a more cohesive aesthetic.
While the homeowner wanted fewer glass-front cabinets, she still wanted to maintain a touch of openness in her coffee bar area. The solution? New glass inserts were carefully chosen to complement the overall design. This subtle update enhanced the space without overpowering the fresh, streamlined look of the kitchen.
To further refine the transformation, the team replaced all the hardware, swapping out brushed nickel for a stunning champagne finish. This small but impactful change introduced a touch of modern elegance and warmth, subtly elevating the kitchen’s overall aesthetic.
